So yesterday's action items were to get all of the generic content off of this site (check I think, gotta search around to make sure), get this blog (check!), the commenting system (check!), and the message boards (check!) functioning, and continue my correspondence with my interview possibilities (silence, alas). The message boards are giving me a little bit of a fit with presenting sub-boards alphabetically (and it's exactly as exciting to work on as it sounds) but they're up and not embarrassing. This blog is, obviously, functioning, although no one is reading it yet. Ask anyone who has started a blog, though; you're not insane talking to people who aren't there, you're just building momentum. Or something.

On a different blog that I share with a friend, I was posting my thoughts about starting this website while trying to be circumspect about what, exactly, I was actually doing. Looking back I think this was silly for a variety of reasons. I'm not going to go into it, 'cause you gotta ack... sen... choo-ate the positive, right? This blog will simply be the less formal, less topic-driven voice of the editor/developer as I put this project together (without redacting the details needlessly - the commies aren't out to steal my secrets to portal building). Now watch me pull a rabbit outta my hat!

This weekend I'm returning to Ashland for the... sixth? time, but it's still a trip full of firsts. For the first time, I'm:

* going alone.

* not going on vacation.

* sitting in the cheap seats.

* staying at the hostel.
